Created in 2021, the Holly Barrow at the Lost Village of Dode is Kent's only modern-day columbarium available for the interment of ashes. It is a unique resting place perfectly positioned in a fold of the North Downs and has been designed to complement its natural setting, blending seamlessly into the landscape of the Kent countryside.

Situated near the ancient Norman church of Dode, it offers a deep spiritual, uniquely personalised and eco-conscious alternative to more traditional interments.

Interment of Ashes

Four handcrafted granite chambers, each with around 70 double niches for ashes
A candlelit chapel at the end of the passageway for final farewells
A nature-based, eco-conscious approach to memorials, welcoming all beliefs

Niches can be personalised with approved receptacles, engraved tablets, iron grills, or stained glass

Although the legal limit in the United Kingdom for interred urns to remain in the Holly Barrow, is 99 years, we intend that they remain there for eternity, closing and covering Holly Barrow by the surrounding landscape 99 years after the last interment has taken place.
