Jacobine is Dode's steward, the trusted organiser of great occasions, the overseer of hospitality, the one who ensures all your life event ceremonies held at Dode are just that little bit more magical. Be it Handfasting, a Naming Ceremony, or your Wedding - Jacobine is there to support you though every step.
Jacobine is no stranger to Dode - she has been closely involved behind the scenes for some time and has also played a key role in assisting with our sister church, St Benedict's at Paddlesworth. She brings with her a deep understanding of our story and a passion for the ceremonies and traditions that make this place so special.

In her own words: 'Soon after we moved to the area, my husband Bernard and I walked past The Lost Village of Dode during our weekday lunch break. Incidentally Doug and my predecessor were outside and, in keeping with Dode's ethos of hospitality, they invited us in to have a look around and we started chatting. We immediately got on well and Bernard and I felt we found our home from home, feeling a deep sense of belonging. Having a professional background in classical music I felt Dode would be the absolutely perfect venue for intimate concerts and luckily Doug was happy for me to start organising these. One thing led to another and soon enough we started to work together as volunteers at Dode and St. Benedict's in Paddlesworth. Some time later, Gwen, one of our many rescue cats, chose Dode as her new home. Little did I know her move was the advent for us both following in the footsteps of Becky and her dog Cooper! Dode is a special place, for both humans and animals, very much in keeping with Dode's ethos that all life has a connecting distinct essence. Dode really works in mysterious ways'.
