A Promise Fulfilled

Here’s a little throwback to a few weeks ago, at Imbolc (1st.of February for those who haven’t yet got used to the way we acknowledge and celebrate the passing of time at Dode).
Perhaps Imbolc, is the ‘pausing point’ on the Wheel of the Year that offers most promise - the rain did nothing to dampen everybody’s spirits as we gathered to wake up our tiny orchard area.

Illuminated by flaming torches, accompanied by drumbeat and shouts of ‘Wass Hail’ the trees could have been in no doubt that their winter slumber was ending and as we approach the Spring Equinox the promise is being fulfilled, blossom and buds are appearing and birds are singing, as the ‘Quickening’ gathers pace.
The first open day of the year on Sunday brought many to see us, the fog and mist adding to Dode’s slightly otherworldly atmosphere.
Our little team very much look forward to the promise of springtime which is always fulfilled in Natures Covenant.
Bright Blessings - Doug.
