In today’s increasingly secular society, fewer and fewer children are baptised in the traditional sense i.e. a Christening.

At Dode, we are sad that this ‘right of passage’ seems to be disappearing as it brings together family and close friends who promise to support and protect the child.  Until recently civil celebrants were licenced to perform a baby naming/baby welcoming but this has now been withdrawn from their list of duties.

Mindful of this, here at Dode we can offer a baby naming/welcoming ceremony in a deeply spiritual but non-religious setting with words either provided by our celebrant or (preferably) augmented or written by the parents, grandparents or sponsors.

Although the services of a celebrant are included we encourage the ‘elders’ to become actively involved if they wish.

Following the ceremony, Dode is able to provide the perfect setting for a family get together/celebration.

If you would like to learn more, please get in touch and we would be happy to talk things through with you. You can find out more about our celebrant ceremonies via our sister site
